Jennifer
and Jane blend Yoga into Pilates matwork.
Jane
Fryer created Inward
Bound: Adventures in Personal Renewal
in 1992 and teaches at the West End Fitness
Center in Washington, DC. Jane's unique
teaching style blends years of study of
the Iyengar, Kripalu, and Ashtanga yoga
traditions with an interest in women's health,
acupressure, and astrology. More recently,
she has become an affiliated teacher with
Anusara yoga, which has captured her heart.
Her understanding of anatomy and the body's
energy systems provide both beginning and
seasoned students a unique way to explore,
heal, and integrate the bodymind, as well
as stimulate and liberate the psyche.

Jennifer Harvey was named
by Boston Magazine's 28th Annual Best of
Boston survey in 2001 as Boston's Best Exercise
Instructor (West). "Her
phenomenally popular class feels like MTV-meets-dance-therapy,"
says Boston Magazine. To that, scores of
local area students would surely add their
own list of superlatives. It's "a
style that's at once soothing and energizing"
that captured the award for Jennifer.
A double-decade veteran of the American
fitness scene, Jennifer has been on the
cutting edge of mind/body exercise and is
an accomplished teacher of yoga, Pilates
and NIA (Neuromuscular Integrative Action)
as well as a licensed psychotherapist having
been in practice for the past seventeen
years. Certified in both the Kripalu and
Svaroopa yoga traditions, she holds a second-level
Blue Belt in NIA and has completed extensive
training in Pilates with the Physical/Mind
Institute.
Jennifer's Boston area classes are held
at her new studio in Wellesley, Laughing
Dog Yoga Studio, as well as additional locations.
In addition to her teaching, she has integrated
an extensive study of human anatomy and
the body's energy systems with her training
in fitness, psychology and meditation into
a highly-refined yoga therapy practice addressing
physical injuries, postural misalignments,
trauma and stress.
